Introduction

This privacy policy (“Policy”) describes how HME License (the “App”) handles your information. The App is published by Nguyen Duong Duc (Android package com.wowsoftware.hmelicense) and is the companion license app for HME: it holds your Premium subscription and makes your premium status available to trusted HME apps on the same device.

This Policy applies to the App distributed via the Google Play Store. It does not apply to third-party services governed by their own policies — in particular Google Play, which processes all payments.

Summary in plain language

HME License is deliberately minimal. It has no accounts, no sign-in, and no server operated by the developer.

• We collect nothing. The App sends no data to the developer — there is no backend to send it to.
• Payments are handled entirely by Google Play. The App never receives your card or bank details.
• Your license lives on your device. Premium status and expiry are stored locally and shared only with trusted HME apps on the same device, over an encrypted on-device channel.
• The App shows no ads and contains no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.

Information the App processes

Purchase data

• Google Play purchase token and product identifier — when you subscribe, Google Play returns a purchase token. The App processes it on your device to determine your license state. It is not sent to any developer server; the developer does not operate one.
• The App never receives or stores your card number, bank details, or any payment-instrument data. Google Play collects and processes all payment information under Google’s own privacy policy.

License data (stored on your device only)

• Premium status and expiry date — derived from your Google Play subscription and stored locally.
• Random install identifier — a random value generated on first launch, used to identify this installation to trusted HME apps on the same device. It is not derived from your identity or any hardware identifier, and it never leaves the device.

Technical data

• Network connectivity state — read on the device by the Google Play Billing library. This signal is not transmitted off the device by the App.

On-device license sharing

Trusted HME apps on the same device can read your premium status from the App. This channel is:

• Signature-gated — protected by an Android signature-level permission, so only apps signed with the developer’s certificate can read it.
• Encrypted — every response is end-to-end encrypted between the two apps.
• On-device only — the exchange happens over Android inter-process communication and never touches the network.

The only fields shared are your premium status, its expiry date, and the random install identifier described above.

Where your data is stored

Everything the App stores — license state and the random install identifier — lives on your device. The developer holds no copy. Your subscription itself is managed by Google Play in your Google account.

Permissions requested

The Android permissions requested by the App and their purpose are listed in the Permissions table on this page (rendered automatically from the App’s published metadata). All three — INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, and com.android.vending.BILLING — are required by the Google Play Billing library. The App requests no location, contacts, camera, microphone, storage, or phone permissions.

Third-party services

The only third-party service the App relies on is Google Play Billing, which collects payment and manages the subscription. Payment details are handled entirely by Google Play under Google’s privacy policy. The App contains no advertising SDK and no third-party analytics SDK.

Data sharing and sale

We do not sell your data and do not share it with third parties for advertising or analytics. The only parties involved are:

• Google Play, as the payment processor and subscription manager; and
• trusted HME apps on your own device, which read your premium status as described above.

Data deletion

Because the App stores data only on your device:

• Uninstalling the App deletes everything it stored. There is no server-side copy to delete.
• Cancel your subscription first in the Play Store (Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions) if you no longer want to be charged — uninstalling alone does not cancel a subscription.
• Your purchase history remains with Google Play under Google’s own policies.

Data retention

The App retains license state on your device for as long as it is installed. The developer retains nothing.

Children

The App is a companion to a paid subscription and is not directed to children. The Play Store listing targets the audience 18+. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone — children included.

Regional rights — GDPR / CCPA / others

If you reside in the EU, UK, California, Brazil, or another jurisdiction with data-protection legislation, you may exercise your rights by emailing the address below. In practice the App gives you the strongest position possible: the developer holds no personal data about you to access, correct, or delete.

Security

• The license channel between HME apps is encrypted end-to-end and gated by an Android signature-level permission.
• License state is stored in the App’s private storage, inaccessible to other apps.
• The App targets a recent Android SDK (API 36) and does not embed remote-config or code-loading SDKs.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy as the App evolves. Material changes are reflected in the “Last updated” and “Policy version” fields above. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.

Governing law

This Policy is governed by the laws of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. To the extent local consumer- or data-protection laws of your jurisdiction provide stronger rights, those apply to the extent required by law.
